Frequently Asked Questions

What approach do you take when filming my ceremony?
We try to stay in the background as much as possible as we do not want your guests that are present to feel like they are taking part in a Hollywood movie. However, we also want your video to be as real and life-like as possible, therefore we will set our cameras up to get the best shots with minimal distraction. If you are getting married in a church, we must abide by the rules they set as far as moving around, etc. One more side note: We do not have that little annoying red light that blinks when we are recording.

What approach do you take when filming my reception?
We will film all of the major events including the bridal party intros, cake cutting, toasts, first dances, garter/bouquet toss, dancing, and any other event you have planned for your reception. Once again, we will set up our camera so there will be minimal distraction. However, when it comes to the dancing, if the party is bumping, we like to get right in the middle of the crowd and get some great clips for your video. We make it a lot of fun and everyone will love the camera!

How do you pick up the audio for the vows during the ceremony?
Right before the ceremony, we will place a wireless lapel microphone on the groom. If you are doing pictures before the ceremony, we will not put the mic on the groom until after the pictures are completed. Immediately after the ceremony, we will remove the microphone so once again it will not show up in the formal pictures.

Who should I expect to show up?
We are a privately owned and operated business. You will be in contact with Jeremy (owner) from start to finish including planning, filming, and returning a finished product to you. We do not "contract out" or send an "assistant" to film your wedding.

What time limits do you put on filming my wedding?
NONE. The world may be a busy place, but your wedding only happens once and there is no way I would leave because our time had "expired". You are hiring us to film your wedding, not punch a clock. I could not imagine asking a bride during her reception for another $xxx.xx to continue filming.

When should I expect you to arrive?
We usually arrive approx 1 hour before the first event (ie. bride getting ready, etc...) However, every wedding is different, so this is something that will be covered when booking your wedding.

When do you take my wedding date "off the market"?
Once a contract is signed and a deposit has been made, then we are locked in and no one else can take your date.

What types of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, personal checks, credit card, and Paypal. There is an additional 3.5% fee that will be added to the total amount if paying with a credit card or Paypal. There is a $25 fee on returned checks.

Do your packages include travel times?
Our rates include travel up to 100 miles from Lexington, Ky. (This includes Louisville & Cincinnati). If your wedding is over 100 miles from Lexington, please ask about what travel accommodations are needed.

What type of food arrangements should we make for you?
You do not have to provide food, but it would be appreciated. If you are, food considerations should include 3 people. If you are having a "seated dinner", then crew boxes or to-go boxes are fine. We do not need any type of seating as we will setup close to the DJ and use a table/cart that we will bring to set our food and drinks on.

When will I receive my DVDs?
It takes approx. 4-6 weeks to return a finished DVD. Depending on our schedule, it may take more/less time. We will keep you updated with our turn around time closer to your wedding.

So I get 11 copies of my video, do they all include artwork?
Absolutely! You will receive 11 copies of your DVD complete with full color artwork printed on professional waterproof discs. You will also receive 11 full color professionally printed DVD cases so your video will fit in nicely with your other movies. We also have leather and specialty cases available for you to choose from. These can be substituted for the Bride & Grooms copy.

What do you mean by waterproof disc?
Your DVD will be waterproof just like the other movies in your collection. We do not use cheap paper labels, light-scribe, or paper-surfaced inkjet DVDs. We use professional quality waterproof disc that resist fading and will not produce a "water spot" if you get it wet.
Essentially, you could soak the DVD in the bathtub overnight and it will still look amazing and be fully playable! (Of course you have to dry it off before you put it in the DVD player :)  When looking for a videographer, ask them that question and see what they say... It will probably sound something like this, "We wouldn't recommend that because it will cause the ink to smear."

How do I know that my video is safe from damage, etc?
Each tape that we use is stored/transported in a small fireproof/waterproof safe and your tapes will remain there until you have received your DVDs. We will keep your tapes on file for a minimum of 2 years. A copy of your DVD will be made and stored in a fire-proof safe in case you would like additional copies at a later date. This DVD copy will be available for a minimum of 5 years, but more than likely it will remain in the safe indefinitely.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are licensed and registered with the state of Kentucky and we carry a $500,000 commercial liability policy with Farm Bureau Insurance of Kentucky that covers us in all of the United States including Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. If your wedding is outside of this area, we can purchase a rider that would cover us for whatever destination that you have chosen.

Do you book more than one wedding per day?
No. Your wedding is our main focus from approx. 24 hours before your wedding until it is over. We do not try to "squeeze" somebody in by doing a wedding early afternoon and late evening. When we arrive, we will be fresh and ready to film your wedding, and your wedding only. If you are reading this and we do not have your date available, we do apologize, but we cannot make exceptions.

What is the "Love Story" add-on?
It is a 5-10 minute video that is filmed in a studio setting or "on location" (as shown in picture to the right) a few weeks prior to your wedding. This short film is similar to the TLC show "A Wedding Story". It can be played at the ceremony or reception and is a great way to let guests get to know how you met and how your love story developed.
Click here to view a recent "Love Story" that was filmed in Louisville, Ky. It was shown at the reception and it really created a connection between the bride & groom and their guests.

I'm interested, what is the next step?
First, you need to call or
e-mail us so that we can make sure your date is available and go over the initial details of your wedding. Once you have decided to book us for your wedding, simply fill out the necessary paperwork and put down a deposit to hold your date.

I know there are a lot of questions, but I feel that it is important you know exactly what you are getting and not be surprised later after your wedding is over and cannot be redone. If you have any more questions, please contact us at (859) 707-9921.
